On 3rd February 2025, Helena Burke from the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice came to speak to the Women's Fellowship about the work of the Hospice and the plans that the Hospice have for the future.

She explained the different types of care provided by Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. Contrary to popular belief, not all of the care is 'in house' care. There is a 'Living Well Service' which helps patients and their families manage and 'live well' with their illness and remain as independent as possible. There is 'Hospice at Home' which enables patients to have hospice care whilst in their own familiar home environment. There is also the 'In-Patient' Hospice. Many patients come to the Hospice for respite care or to ensure the medication is correctly sorted out.

Helena went on to explain the the Hospice is currently in the process of building a new Hospice building in Farnham. The new building will have 18 beds – each with their own ensuite facilities. Each room will have facilities for family members to stay as well.

At the end of the meeting, a cheque for £115 was presented to Helena. This donation was raised by the Women's Fellowship at the Christmas Carol Service in December.
