Sunday 26 October: British Summer Time Ends – Clocks FALL back one hour at 2.00am.

3Generate 2025

From Friday 3 to Sunday 5 October more than 1,700 children and young people aged between 4 to 18 years old went on “The Journey of a Lifetime” at 3Generate, the Methodist Children and Youth Assembly held at the NEC, Birmingham.

The theme for Black History Month UK 2025 is “Standing Firm in Power and Pride,” a powerful tribute to the resilience, strength, and
unwavering commitment to progress that defines the Black community across the globe. This year, the theme highlights the profound contributions made by Black people be they leaders, activists, or pioneers who have shaped history, while
also looking towards a future of continued empowerment, unity, and growth.

Digital landline switchover and telecare

You may have heard that traditional analogue telephone lines are being phased out in favour of digital ones by the end of this year (see the link below).

A national campaign is urging users of telecare devices to get in touch with their communications provider (in other words, the company who sends the phone bill). This is to let them know that they use a wrist / pendant device, or similar health / fall alarm.
