The Thursday evening house group started in September 2008. We meet in homes on the first Thursday of each month at 7.45.p.m. The evening usually includes prayer, a Bible study/discussion and refreshments. The average attendance is 14. In Advent we have an Advent miscellany and sing carols around the piano. In August we invite the church to tea in the garden.
The first year we deepened our understanding of Islam by comparing Islam and Christianity. We looked at different beliefs and lifestyles and examined closely the differences between the two religions, After Christmas we studied chapters from the Book of Revelation. In the summer we followed a study on leaders in the Bible, with a political impact.
In the Autumn of 2009 we watched the film “Iris” and followed a “Connect” Bible study based on the film. The topics included relationships, communication, caring and dying.
Last year we studied a booklet on Angels and also Martyn Atkyn’s booklet on Discipleship. This year different circuit ministers are leading the monthly meetings.
All are welcome to attend. Full details may be found on the notice board in the church foyer.
